Kuwait University RS Organizes Research Awards Ceremony for the Academic Year 2020/2021
Under the patronage and in the presence of Acting Kuwait University President Prof. Bader Al-Bedaiwi, Vice President for research Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi hosted RS ceremony held to honor the winners of research awards at Kuwait University, which are Distinguished Researcher Award, Best Young Researcher Award, and Graduate Students Award for Masters and PhD for the academic year 2020/2021. The ceremony was held at the University Council Hall – Khaldiya campus in the presence of Dr. Ali Al-Mutairi Assistant Vice President for Research Implementation and Finance, Dr. Noriah Al-Kandari Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development, Prof. Meshari Al-Aifan Acting Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Dr. Mohammad Zainal Acting Vice President for Planning.
Prof. Bader Al-Bedaiwi initiated the ceremony by welcoming the distinguished research awards winners at Kuwait University, wishing them a bright future through distinguished publishing that would lead them to professional success, with which they can contribute to elevate Kuwait University standing and put Kuwait’s name on the global competitive map and research excellence. He also valued their effective role as thinkers specialized in guiding new professors who joined the university towards scientific research competitiveness, wishing that they would contribute in the development of a plan and proposals at the university administration level represented by the Research Sector in order to develop research production in terms of workshops, internal conferences and to develop joint research teams aimed to reach research excellence.
On his part, Prof. Rashid Al-Enizi congratulated the distinguished research awards winners, emphasizing RS dedication towards elevating scientific research, as well as encouraging and supporting distinguished researchers and utilizing their research to serve the community. He also wished for research to contribute in the development of the state of Kuwait, as he valued the Research Sector’s dedication in supporting the largest capacity of research which shall elevate the name of our country and implement its 2035 vision towards a distinguished knowledge economy.
The winners of these distinguished awards were then honored, which came in appreciation for their distinguished scientific and research efforts. These awards which are presented by the Research Sector are an incentive to encourage distinguished scientific research which contributes in elevating Kuwait University standing and its scientific and research status globally.

Winners of Distinguished Researcher Award in the field of Arts and Humanities for the academic year 2020/2021:
Prof. Othman Al-Khuder – Department of Psychology – Faculty of Social Sciences.
Dr. Abdullah Jawad Sultan – Department of Management and Marketing – College of Business Administration.
Dr. Naif Nazal Al-Shammari – Department of Economics – College of Business Administration.
Winners of Best Young Researcher Award in the field of Arts and Humanities for the academic year 2020/2021:
Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra – Department of Mass Media- Faculty of Arts.
Dr. Aisha Al-Ahmad Al-Azmi – Department of Educational Administration – Faculty of Education.
Dr. Meshari Abdulaziz Al-Nahidh – Department of Management and Marketing – College of Business Administration.
Winner of Best Young Researcher Award in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences for the academic year 2020/2021:
Dr. Fatima Hussain Al-Awadhi – Department of Pharmacuetical Chemistry – Faculty of Pharmacy.
Winner of Research Excellence for Graduate Students – PhD Holders – for the academic year 2020/2021 for scientific faculties:
